IndyCar Hybrid

Ilmor have collaborated with Chevrolet, Honda, and IndyCar to produce a Hybrid unit to be run on all cars for the 2024 NTT IndyCar series. 2022 Series Champion Will Power was conducting trials at Sebring testing in a Penske Chevrolet equipped with the hybrid unit. Rob Buckner, Chevrolet’s IndyCar manager says the hybrid test was an opportunity to gain experience all about the integration of the hardware and software rather than outright performance development. The hybrid design is very much a collaboration with Chevrolet/Ilmor and Honda/HPD and applying anything learned across the entire hybrid program.
