Congratulations to Pato O’Ward and Team Arrow McLaren and Team Chevrolet for their win over the weekend at mid-Ohio! It was a highly competitive race with Pato O’Ward overtaking Alex Palou on lap 55 and narrowly defending his victory until the end.
This race has brought forth a new age of racing as for the first time all cars were fitted with a hybrid system that was made by a collaboration between Honda who made the Energy Storage System and Chevolet/ILMOR/EMPEL who collaborated on the Motor Generator Unit. This system grants drivers’ a powerful boost at 60 extra horsepower that drivers can use in combination with the existing push to pass system resulting in a total of 120 extra horsepower for teams to use strategically, adding an extra dynamic to racing. We are extremely proud to have been a part of this history-making project, we continue to be excited about the technological advancements being made in motorsports and look forward to the future of hybrid racing.
